For example: Solar-powered heating and cooling may be an excellent energy-saving solution for structures in the Southwest, but it’s not generally a viable option throughout the Northeast. However, solar panels may be a wonderful alternative to electricity for heating water.
Another example: While types and grades of windows should always be selected based on a building’s location and surrounding climate, this is not a one-size-fits-all initiative, even within those parameters. By narrowing the criteria to include factors such as exposure to the sun, adjacent structures, foliage and specific building utility, significant savings in heating and cooling can be realized.
